Circularity is increasingly making its way into sustainable purchasing programmes. Purchasers might however find it difficult to concretely define and evaluate the circular attributes of products they purchase. This session will give a practical orientation on best practice standards that are currently being used by purchasers in their day-to-day work and that can provide understanding and validation of circularity in credible ways. Collaboration across the supply chain is therefor key for collecting circularity related data and information that is meaningful and can objectively inform purchasing decisions. The panel will show examples of circular procurement in practice and how standardized ways of sharing and verifying circularity can support supplier relations and future-proof purchasing.
